  1. I have a Cateye Wireless sensor that attaches to my chainstay with two plastic zipties. The problem I am having is that these ties are snapping or popping off. Luckily only one at a time so I haven't lost the sensor yet . I was thinking of using some double sided stick tape and some of that plastic coated wire that holds kids toys in the display boxes to hold it on.

    What are you guys doing??

  2. I have never had any problem with the zip ties. Is there a problem with your installation that causes something to rub against the ties? Do you pull them too tight when you install them to weaken the plastic?

  3. Take an old tube and cut a piece of rubber that fits under the entire thing, That'll stop the frame from rubbing against the zip ties, maybe?

I know nothing is rubbing them. I think you may have a point with tightening them too much that might possibly be the problem. I'm going to give the tape a shot with the ties a little looser and see how that goes.

Maybe you got a bad batch of zip ties. I've never had the problem you're describing.

Zip ties are used in automotive, marine, and aircraft applications. They are tried-and-true.

  6. sounds like you got a batch of shoddy zip ties. We see a batch once in awhile that just snap at the head.

All zip ties are not created equal. They do sell higher quality ones.

  8. Take a trip to the LHS* and get HEAVY DUTY zip ties. I've never had a zip tie bust just by itself.

*LHS stands for local hardware store.
