Does anyone know how to delete the last part of a training entry in Polar Precision Performance software?
For some reason I must have started the monitor after I finished a workout and it continue to go until it had no more memory left. So the last 8 hours and 30 minutes are of no interest.
Find out the name of the log file -- it will showup on the screen where you view the graph if you press the info icon. It will have the date as part of the filename. Write the filename down. Go to Windows Explorer or My Computer and navigate to program files then Polar and look for exercise files. Alternatively, search your C drive for the filename.
When you find the exercise log file, right-click it and choose "Open with" and select Notepad. The log file will open. Scroll down to where yopur exercise session ended which you can tell because the long column of numbers is heart rates. Find where the rate declines rapidly. Highlight everything from there to the end of the file. File > Save and you're done.

The latest version of PPP software is 4.03.043. In this version you can delete a selection. So: - deselect all, (right mouse click beneath the selection(blue bar)) - select the part you want to delete (push left mouse button beneath the horizontal axes at the beginning point and drag it to the end point and release the left mouse button), - edit menu choose 'delete selection'

I thought about that but after I modified the file, PPP still claim that the exercise time is over 9 hours...

I'm using an older version of PPP. You don't have a link directly to a page where I can download a new version? -- Jørn Dahl-Stamnes http://www.dahl-stamnes.net/dahls/
Here's the English page from the Polar.fi website for the 4.03.043 update: http://tinyurl.com/5xut

I would open the .hrm file in Notepad, or any other text editor, and delete the offending hours from the end of the file. First save it under another name just in case you need to redo it due to an error you may have made.
My file can be found in the folder Polar Precision Software/my name/2006.

Open the graph, select the part of the training you are not interested (by holding left mouse button down and drawing the cursor under the time axel). Then Edit - Delete Selection. Close the graph and answer yes to "save the changes" question. That's about it.
