    The second last Pro-Tour race of the season takes place this weekend in Paris.

    This race is usually a fast paced race - that normally comes down to the sprinter/roadmen.

    Last year saw a superb last gasp win, by the "evergreen" Erik Zabel.
    After a superb race in Salzburg, Zabel is in fine form.

    But the man of the season - Tommy Boonen - is on the start list.
    His fellow team member Bettini is contesting the Coppa instead.

    DiLuca will be trying to defend his ProTour lead.

    Kiss of death ? Tom Boonen.

    Correction. DiLuca is still high on Leaky-gas and Valverde is leading the ProTour rankings... or are you accounting for those who are doping which puts DiLuca into the lead ?

    Valverde of course is leading the ProTour.
    He's not on the start list for Paris Tours at the weekend.

    OT: Rebellin for the Lombardia, after his Coppa Sabatini win. Fabulous. :eek:

    I am definately routing for Zabel, but my feeling is that Bennati will breakthrough and win this race.

    OK Lime, your kiss of death is getting worse, not only do the riders struggle in the finish, but Boonen quit with Zabel at the feed zone a little over halfway through the race. We need to get you another crystal ball.

    Turning out to be a bit of weird race really. A good few of the big teams completely missed out on the big break, then half the field quits. The big chase group isn't catching up either, so maybe they'll pull out too?

    Agreed - the kiss of death is literally the kiss of death.

    Frederic Guesdon's win is a surprise.
    A rider who I have huge respect for finished in second place - Arvesen.
    I actually did back Arvesen to podim at Zurich : so my predictions aren't totally off key !!!!(says he!!).

    Arvesen was really dissapointed. Here a pic just after the race finished..

    Arvesen's a quality rider, I think.

    I wouldn't begrudge Guesdon his win though.

    I think they are both great riders. It was fascinating that they (and the others in the breakaway group) made the "sprinters" classic to a really mean and hard race.
