There will be 4 schools of thought here:
1: No problem at all, hold a can of cider with 2 spare fingers, and use
you mobile with the other hand - completely safe.
2: Doing anything other than watching the road ahead is dangerous.
3: If you had a helmet on while rolling a [censored], you are quite safe.
4: If you had a helmet on while rolling a [censored], then it is quite safe, so
long as you take the helmet off first.

I thought most folk smoked after they'd had a roll - but in any case
this is a feat worthy of note. I would expect the main danger to be
forgetting one was on a bike and rolling over to go to sleep.

Some Years Ago a grizzled old clubman related a story that a keen member
of the Constabulary had summonsed Reg Harris[1] for cycling "no-hands".
The charge was that Mr Harris was not in proper control of his bicycle.
The story went on to say that Reg appeared in court and performed a
track-stand during which he removed his hands from the bars, thus
demonstrating that he was in full control of his bicycle.

This has a definite whiff of myth about it, but I was wondering if
anyone else had heard the story.

[1] For the benefit of the folks round here who are even younger than
me, Reg Harris was World Professional Sprint Champion in the early
1950s. He made a comeback and won the British National Sprint
Championship in 1974.
