Cables through frame???????????

Just put the cables through like you're putting them through housing.

Mr. bike_racer102 is probably familiar with internal top tube cable runs that use a brass tube inside the top tube. Not the case with Kleins.

For the rear brake cable in the top tube you'll probably have to remove the insert/cable stop at the saddle end (be careful and you can re-use it). It's almost impossible to get anything through the little hole there. Once that is done you can use a long piece of copper wire to fish your way from the front end to the back and once you get it there you can tape some string or something to the wire and then tie the string to the cable and pull it through. Then replace the insert over the cable. Another method is to tape a small flag of tissue to the end of a string and then make a connection for a vacuum to suck it through the rear end, then continue as above - never tried that but I've seen it written.

For the derailleur cables there is no insert under the bottom bracket so you can skip the insert part but the copper wire should work.

In the future, use a piece of cable lining to pipe up the connection before you take out your old cable and then the new one will slide right through - that's how they come from the factory. Look closely at my attached photo and you'll see the liners through the holes and taped to the frame so they don't come out in shipping.

SOP. Use a flexible wire to form a looped snare inside the tube on one end and have the snare fully open to the full ID of the tube. Then pass a thin wire or whatever toward the opened snare and just snare and pull it through. 😄

You're right, I was probably thinking of a different frame

Thanks for the advise sounds like it sould work! I didnt realise the stopper was removable so ill give it a go.

These steps may be necessary, but at least on the downtube cables they seem to just pop out. Just poke the wire down spin it around a few times and keep jabbing at the hole and it should get in.
