  1. Can anyone out there tell me if maintaining a cycling speed of 22 mph for 5 miles is a good base for someone that just started seriously cycling?

I took an endurance test yesterday and was able to sustain the speed of 22 mph for 5 miles on the Computrainer. My Coach won't go into anymore details, at least not yet but is going with me to the gym next week to make sure I am doing the right lifting of weights/excercises correctly.

This was my first test with my Coach. I spent the last four months cycling with a group near my house and it has been fun watching the improvments take place.

I want to race next year but need to know if I have any realistic chance of winning these races and just not finishing.

  2. Listen to your coach.

We don't know what the program was on the computrainer. Keep training, and listen to your coach.
