Hi...
So what I am hoping for in this post is to get definite suggestions on a training plan. I'll try to give as much detail as possible and hopefully obtain some useful feedback/suggestions.
I ordered a new PM (PT Pro) that should arrive in about 10 days, as well as a kurt kinetic indoor trainer. (thanks for the recommendations!) So all I've done up to now, has been based on HRM methods.
Riding Experience: started in July 06
Training hours/week: 9 - 11 hours - 4 rides. 2 hours/2 rides during the week, 7-9 hours / 2 rides on weekends. I do about 2 hours of LT riding per week now.
Miles: 90-125/week
Weight: 73kg - I've lost 5 kg since I started riding - (height 5'10"😉
LT HR: 160-164
FTP: September 1st = 85 watts (honest!).
September 30th = 155 watts*
(* estimated by analyticcyling on a steady, long, local climb - 5.75 miles @ 6.5% - I did this in 57 minutes at the highest pace I could maintain after already riding for hour of riding at sub-LT HR, 150 avg)
When I get the PM, one of the first things I want to do is a proper FTP test to base power zones on. I understand what cp6, 20, FTP, L1-L7 all mean.
Goals: for 2006, get FTP =200
for 2007 - FTP = 250 and race women's cat 4 w/respectable results.
Yes, I understand racing is more than just power numbers, and that tactics, bike handling play huge parts - so that is something I need a lot of work on too.
I know a lot of one's potential is tied to genetics. Dedication and willingness though I have in spades - all I do on weekends is ride, and other times, think about riding, plot how to get better, faster, etc.
