  1. Hi,
I've started cycling in january and rode about 12000km and a lot of (training)races since then. Next week I'll have my last race of this season and, since I dont have a lot of experience with training sceduels, I was wondering what I should do now. My goal for next year is to get well prepaired for my first real 'racing-season'. So probably I'll have to be in good shape in April or so.
So what should I do now? I read everywhere that you should take some time (a whole month?!) off to rest en get your motivation back. Is this really necessary? I mean, I'm very motivated now and my shape is great. It looks a bit strange to stop cycling now and start again after a month so I can start training whole over again to get in the shape I am in now. Is it possible to keep this shape as a 'base' and work to a 'higher point of shape' or something (sorry my english isnt that good, I hope you get the point)?
And what kind of trainings should I be doing then? Only endurance in the begining? Or can I also do some interval and power-training?
I hope you can help me out!

I would advise that you don't take the "off season" too literally. It can be a good opportunity to take a bit of a break at the end of the season to help your body and mind recover and get ready for the next season. This doesn't mean you are not allowed to ride your bike at all. you still need to keep your body fit. Because you are motivated to ride i would advise that you do ride. In the off season it's more about riding when and how much you feel like. You don't have to stick to a strict plan and it is a good time to do cross training in other activities.
