When I had PF, I found cycling to actually help since there was no impact and increased circulation. Joggin was painful, usually after rather that during. You know you have it if the first step in the morning is the most painful of the day.
I tried a bazillion different things, but what cured me was custom orthotics which I got from a podiatrist(who was also a runner). I had to go back several times to get properly fitted(very important) but was cured rather quicky after the fit was perfected.
The night splint was also effective in stretching things out, but made sleeping disruptive.
