I have the 0.072 inch brass wire and have fabricated some Z-bends using the Du-Bro bender. I have an RMA for 100 each 14 gage spokes to be replaced with 15 gage spokes. I will cut the heads off of those and build a wheel.
I am thinking of starting an alternative/experimental spoking website and business.
I have written to K&S metals, distributors of the brass wire, asking if they can supply 14 and 15 gage stainless wire, or stock it in their displays for bicyclists to pick up at hobby shops.
Many suppliers, mscdirect.com and mcmaster.com included, stock stainless wire in 1 and 2 foot lengths, but only to 16 gage, 1.16 inch. That's a mite thin for spokes.
