I'm hoping someone knows of a bike shop that can service Topeak track
pumps.
I have a Topeak Joe Blow Sport, which has given me good service. It
started acting funny (not pumping to the pressure I want - handling
blowing back vertically), and having stripped it down, in the pressure
gauge assembly I find a small one-way valve, clearly intended to hold
pressure in the hose (and pressure gauge) while the pump handle is
being raised.
Problem is, my valve features rusty moisture, and two bits of a
hair-thin spring. It doesn't work. The spring is fairly fine, flares
slightly at one end and is narrowed at the other - doesn't look like
the sort of thing I can substitute easily.
I know that Topeak do a pump spares kit which is apparently a "Clearly
marked, compartmentalised box containing individual replacement parts
for the full range of Topeak pumps." Unfortunately, my lbss deny all
knowledge of it. It's 30 quid, so I think it's not intended for a
consumer with a single pump (cheaper to buy another).
However, I don't want to chuck an otherwise functional pump for want
of one little spring. (Well, OK, and one O-ring that I knackered
dismantling it, but I expect I can source an O-ring).
Anyone know anywhere that has such a spares kit and sells the parts
individually?
regards, Ian SMith
