whilst at the same time marketing a copy of the Dual Drive?

It looks like the formatting is meant to be seen in the BROL frames, but everything from "Day One"
is goofy. Everything from the Dirt Demo looks OK.

Give 'em a break- working at Interbike is like running a marathon while yelling at the top of your
lungs for days on end. When I worked shows, it took me three weeks to regain my voice.

Coverage is great despite some format hiccups so I was merely pointing it out.

Vision did not have a booth or any reps at the show. They were listed as exhibitors which indicates
that they did pay for one. They are currently in a production hiatus and say they are just moving
buildings but there no-show at Interbike is concerning.

I've never heard of HPM having an Interbike booth. They don't use dealers so I don't know why
they would.

Ok, here is the scoop. Appearantly Vision had reserved a booth but never showed up for Interbike. I
talked to many bent manufactuers about their status, but they were tight lipped. Talk around the
campfire doesn't sound too good for Vision, RIP.

Human Powered Machines- I didn't see a booth for this company. Did they also reserve a booth?

Keep in mind that only a handful of bent mfrs made it to Interbike. Bacchetta, Rans, Lightfoot,
Lightning, Cycle Genius, HPV Velocheck, Big Cat Catrike, Penninger, Greenspeed and a few others.

I was able to have a long deserved chat with Paulo (Catrike). His new Trail trike is an excellent
bargain and is very comfortable. The new fenders fit like a glove and should be an excellent
addition to this trike.

According to Randy, the Vivo is being discontinued. Too bad as I took a liking to it. He did not say
when it was being erased. However, when you purchase bikes by the container load from Taiwan, you
normally have many in stock and don't announce the demise of any product until they are all gone.

I had the chance to check out Rotor Crank. Frankly, I couldn't distinguish the difference,
others claim they could. Product was nicely Engineered and finished. Shimano did not show
anything like the Rotor Crank, but I guess you could ruffle some feathers of some old timers by
bringing up the infamous Biopace. Shimano did sport a 3 x 9,but I'll have to check my brochures
to see if it is going to be available here in the USA. Most impressive was the new Dura Ace
crank set. Nicely finished!

Speaking of Cranks, I was impressed by the offerings of Lightnings new Carbon Fiber crank set-
extremely light, but pricey. Stronglight also had a new lightweight Carbon crank out which was a bit
heavier, but looked very swank. No virdict on the price yet.

Schlumpf was not at the exhibit or perhaps I didn't see them. Roloff was exhibiting and I must admit
I am compelled to try their product on my ST trike.

Another prospect was the Pantour hub. They are working on a front 20mm hub model that may
revolutionize recumbent trikes.

Avid was sporting a new hydraulic brake called the 'Juicy One'. Very light, many adjustments and
easy to set up. No idea about cost.

As for the other stuff, it was below my radar. However, I was able to get all the directories of
Asia and Japan. The damn directories are thicker than a phone book. Try dragging that around
Interbike all day!

Anyway, the most impressive thing I saw at Interbike was an ultra light diamond frame bike that
weighed less than 11 lbs with pedals. It was made of Ti and CF. The asking price was around $10,000.

I've done that. Back when I was working for Bike'alog, my job at the shows was to collect as much
info from the distributors and manufacturers as I possibly could. It would add up to 80 pounds- or
more- of paper. It would also take a couple weeks to sort and file once we got back to the office-
which was good because that's how long it took me to get my voice back.

Nowadays I have an eight-hour-a-day, sit-behind-a-computer job that pays 3 times as much money.
*Riding* my bike is much more fun, too.

How true! I live just above the poverty level. Obviously, this was only supposed to be a part time
business to earn extra cash. However, it consumes more than a full time career just to get the
company rolling. With the hard part complete, I can now pursue a full time job to support my
recumbent habit.

HPM was simply moving and updating in cyberspace.
HPM put up a new website today, havn't put a forwarding link yet from their old address.
No apparent change of product line.
