Even most of the generally reliable ones advertise stuff they haven't got in stock. You always need
to enquire first if the item is needed quickly.

www.wiggle.co.uk is one of the few companies that reliably indicates online what can and can't be
despatched immediately.

www.parker-international.co.uk/components.htm are good and will not mess you about if they say they
can supply something.

I bought a frame + wheels from them earlier this year.

The others I use are mainly Wiggle and Cycle Express. Wiggle have lots of stuff but their postage
tends to be quite expensive if you don't buy what you want in one go. Cycle Express have free
delivery, though they don't seem to list a lot of what I need. Maybe better for Roadies, I don't
know. They often have great deals though. Lights and Camelbaks can be particularly cheap there.

I've used a few others but these are the best I think. Others tend to be very slow, don't answer
calls, don't reply to emails, etc.

An interesting one for me is Gearshift. They're a bit slow at delivery
+ bad at answering phones, etc but they stock some cool things. They're friendly when they do answer
the phone though. They also often have good deals on various bits and bobs.

I've used Settle Cycles quite a lot and think they are excellent in terms of price and service.

On a couple of occasions, I've ordered things that are not in stock and they have called with very
honest no-nonsense advice like "We've got non in stock, the distributor says that they aren't going
to get any for weeks so you might want to try somewhere else". Also, I once ordered something in
the wrong size and they took it back with no questions asked - and even sent me the replacement
post free.

I know this is a bit of a eulogy but they are my second favourite online shop after www.cdwow.com

Settle Cycles are good. Cycle Surgery are also OK but may not have everything in stock - they'll
phone and tell you if there's a problem.

St John Street Cycles are expensive (the perception in our local CTC section is that they buy up all
the unusual stuff to achieve a monopoly on it, and then charge outrageous prices - look at what they
want for a 27" rim, for instance!) and the delivery charge is an eye-popping £5 for anything under
£50. Not nice if all you wanted was a brake hanger!
