My friend Jeff from NJ signed up to do the Kokopelli Trail so I invited
him to come out a couple of days early to get acclimated (although the
Kokopelli is not that high) and go for a ride in my new home. A free
room is hard to beat so he arrived on Thursday. Unfortunately, I had a
conference come up so only Friday Morning would be available. No
problem. I wanted to show him a little of everything in area on one
trail, so I chose Golden Gate State Park for it's climb, altitude,
singletrack, views, and a little technical stuff to keep you on your toes.
We get there early and head up the Blue Grousse trail. Jeff, realizes
that when I say everything is up I mean it.

Ah, now this is more like it as he takes off through the meadow. It's
views and trails like this that drum the reasoning of why I love
Colorado. I think he gets it now.

I told him that his trip to the Rockies wouldn't be complete without a
spin through the Aspens. He thougght I was nuts. That was then and
this is now.

I miss my riding buddies and it was great to get in a ride before he
went off to Moab.
