Looks like something meant to set a motor pacing record.
-
Handlebars are on backwards (front fork curved in the wrong direction).
Methinks this bike is proof that poking smot does cause dame bramage.

Looks like a circus bike. I mean what sort of clown would ride a bike like that?
-
Bro is correct. That is a bike set up for a motorpacing record (one of those 150+kph deals). The front fork is mounted backwards to be able to get even closer to the drafting car.
Very impressive. Takes rather large spherical objects to consider riding one of those things at speed...
-
You wouldn't want to get the inside of your leg caught in the front sprocket...
Ouch

BEEP....BEEP......BEEEEEEEP......
I'm sorry....that's my [censored] detector going off.

about what? It is set up for a land speed record, and it looks like that one wouldn't have quite made it. It'd look funny riding that down the street.

😕 About what? This was the 'conventional' way to set up a land speed record bike (before things got very aero). I may be off with the speed, but probably not by much.
With a similar concept (longer wheelbase to get it right tho) John Howard hit 152 mph... read about it here.

I remember seeing older pictures of land speed bikes with the HUGE chainring and teeny sprocket like this one behind a motorcycle. The chainring isn't as big, but the forks are dead straight. I can see the logic behind turning raked forks backwards to minimized the distance between the vehicle and bike. The one in this post is crazy big!!😄
-
My bike is set up similar except the gearing is reversed from the one in the pictures.

Actually, the forks were turned around to increase the stability, not just get closer to the pacing vehicle.I think someone needs to recalibrate his BS detector... A bit of research usually helps. 🙂

Ah yes, forgot about that as well... -

Letourneur Speed bike 1941.
From Bicyclemuseum.com108 miles per hour. 26 pounds. Hard to believe.
Thats probably a replica of some kind???? -
thats one strange bike... from the looks of things the rider probably wouldn't be able to turn corners without his chain scraping the ground...
Pedal, dismount, adjust bike 45 degrees left, mount, pedal, dismount,...repeat till destination reached

ok! so its, record breaking speadster ,what the heck is the cell phone for or is this a type of speedreading device.if it's a cell phone is this so that the other cyclists can phone up ahead and say, hey!slow down and let us catch up Boet.🙂

That is a manufacturers badge, not a cellphone.
