Hello! I bought my first road bike yesterday. I'm very excited to start riding, but not sure if I bought the right bike. I bought a used bike from a LBS for $550. It is a Litespeed Classic. I'm not sure how old it is, the sales guy said he thought it was maybe 6 years old. He said that they checked everything out and it is in good working order. I took it and another couple bikes for a test drive and I liked the ride and handling, although that's not saying much given my very limited experience on road bikes. I believe it has Shimano Ultegra components and is an 8-spd. Unfortunately I am very ignorant about all of this! I would have waited longer to do more reasearch and learn more, but I have a sprint triathlon (I am a swimmer - running and cycling are very new!) in a couple weeks and didn't want to be riding a borrowed bike. I have been wanting to get into cycling for a long time anyways... Does this sound like an ok first bike? What do you think about the amount I paid? Anyone have any more information about this model?
Yeah I'd say thats a good price, I'd pay $550 for the frameset alone (its titanium). You got a good deal IMO. While the 8spd is a bit outdated it should still serve you well, if you get serious in a couple seasons upgrade in a 10spd ultegra groupset (costs about $500).
you got a litespeed classic for $550? that's great. esp with ultegra. if you want to find out how old it really is just get the serial number and call litespeed.

Any idea where I could find the serial number? Thanks!
