Hi all
Does it matter if the head of the plastic liner inside a "V" brake
noodle is positioned between the ferrule & the housing or between the
ferrule & the noodle?

A little bit. The head prevents the liner from coming out of the noodle
(towards the clamp bolt). Position it between the housing and the ferrule.
Most of the time they get all gritty and fall apart and end up coming out
anyways.
