  1. Hi there,

    My name's Will, i'm nearly 16 and I've been cycling for quite a while now. I cycle just for enjoyment and to keep fit so i don't take part in any races (at least not yet anyway, i might get invloved in competitions in the future). My bike is a mountain bike made by Giant (i'm not sure what the exact model name is) but it's handy because where i live (here in the UK) there are lots of hills and it's got reeeeally low gears. 😄 I'm hopefully getting a road bike soon because my mountain bike is bloody heavy but i'm not sure what type yet. My dads a pretty serious rider and rides a Trek 1200. It's a beautiful thing but i'm quite a lot taller than him so i can't ride his bike because it's too small for me! My favourite aspect of cycling is riding up hills or with strong head winds as it adds to the challenge and you get more of a sense of achievement when you finish. My longest cycle in one go is about 30 miles but i intend to break that soon.

    Anyway it's cool to be a part of these boards and i look forward to posting and reading what other people have to say.

    Cya,

    Boycey 🙂

    yep Boycey....never give up the faith (mtb), we'll bring these feckers down one day....

    dont give up mtb in favour of lighter (and gayer) road cycling....you'll lose self respect and before long you'll be using clipless pedals, wearing lycra and salaviating about how Landis is innocent....its an irreversable process...

  10. Hi Bocey, welcome to the world of cycle forums.

    This is a place that you can get some great advice. Sometimes we get excited about something like 5mm of crank length and start to beat each other up, but most the time we are a happy family.

    Out in the real world, we are admired in our sporting attire, as you will too and if you mates give you any stick over it, then hit them with a few lines like;

    "Some of us make lyrca look good"

    But it does depend on where you come from in the world. In Scotland a disagreement of 5mm of crank length is settled with a single word;

    "Outside"

  11. Oh yeah, welcome Boycey...

    Don't let the homophobists bother you...
