Suburban riding

barber shops, blood drives, bus stops, business meetings, churches, club meetings, conventions,
courthouses, dentist's offices, doctor's offices, fire stations, friends' homes, grocery stores,
hotels, libraries, malls, military bases, movie theaters, museums, opticians, parks, the Pentagon,
relatives' homes, restaurants, schools, shopping centers, and train stations.

I hope nobody "improves" things so much as to make this unsafe, impractical, slow, difficult, or
impossible.

It's pretty clear you aren't riding in modern suburbs - or you wouldn't have used the "car door
without looking" complaint; since modern suburbs completely lack parallel parking.

Your opinion on bike lanes will change dramatically depending on whether your experience is with 50s
era suburbs with on-street parking on gridded collectors with design speeds of 35; or with 80s era
suburbs with cul-de-sac patterns where you must ride on major arterials with no parking and design
speeds of 50+.

I'll add... Do Not Enter - except for bicycles More counties having bicycle coordinators More dual
facility roads (signed as shared roadway as well as whatever the heck else officials think are good
for cyclists, typically sidepaths)
