  1. I have decided on the HAC4 for my computer. I am in the US, and I am wondering from everyones experience if the addition function of the metric unit would be worthwhile for the hassle of learning Kmh vs Mph.

    Thanks for your opinions.

  2. I have been using a US version of the HAC4 Plus for the last 2 months and am happy with it. As near as I can tell the US version now comes with all the functions of the metric version. I believe the literature about the loss of functions on the US version are out of date.

In order to use the HAC4 you have to understand a few German "translations" in the software, but you will get used to it.

I like the Power function as it enables me to see any improvements. They use an algorithm that estimates aero drag so it will never be as accurate as the other units on the market, but I think it does a good job of allowing you to compare day to day efforts.

Let me know if you are interested in a particular function and I can tell you if my US version has it.

  3. Thanks for the info BBrown. You may be correct about the out of date info, but ihave include this link to a pdf that has some detail of the difference on the Metric Hac4. I have seen another piece of information that says there are only seven ommisions on the MPH version. I would really appreciate if you can determine if these feature are are on the MPH version or not. Thanks again

  7. Thanks Kurt,

You're right about missing functions. I have not seen this link before.

The functions I am missing are the rate of climb or descent in m/min and the number of ascents/descents greater than 50 meters. I do have the current ascent/descent gradient %, the average gradient %, and the max gradients %, (both ascent and descent). It is interesting using these. After a while you can eyeball a hill and guess the gradient based on what you have experienced in the past. Don't know why they gave me % but not the rate (m/min, or feet/minute).

Guess you need to make a decision on what you really want or need. I'm happy with my setup. Good luck.
