  1. Hi folks,

A friend of mine recently bought her first bike with Campy gear
(Centaur), and has an intermittent problem: when trying to change
one gear up (smaller cog), the rd moves too far, ending up between
cogs. I can see this when riding with her by the chain's rattling and
skipping until she shifts back to correct it.

On the trainer it doesn't happen for me (or for her when I'm over
watching!), and the bike is much too small for me to ride on the road. I've
never had Campy, and obviously this can't happen with STI. I've cleaned
and lubed the relevant bits, but it hasn't helped.

ISTM that even if you accidentally hold down the button too long, it
shouldn't end up between gears. Can any Campy gurus suggest what
    the problem might be?
