I need to buy pedals for it...what are you guys recommending !?
I don't want to spend the next month doing research on the Internet.
I'm using Look Keos on my road bikes and Time ATACs on my mountain bikes.
The Keos are light, low profile, moderately large platform, engage
positively, have useful amounts of float (depending on the cleat you
choose). In summary all the benefits of the old Look Deltas plus light
weight. But remember to buy cleat covers and use them, because the
cleats are easily damaged by walking on. Recommended.
Prior to using Keos I had tried every single one of Shimano's pedal
systems (SPD, SPD-R, SPD-SL) and didn't like any of them. I ended up
with a pair of quite old Shimano pedals which were actually Look Deltas
made under licence; I quite liked those but they were heavy. Hence the
Keos.
I haven't tried either Keywins (a close friend uses these and is
extremely happy with them) or Speedplays; if I wasn't happy with the
Keos one of those systems would be next on my list. But as it is, the
Keos do me.
The ATACs engage positively, have useful amounts of float, and clear mud
quickly. Also recommended.
Prior to switching to ATACs I'd used Shimano SPDs and various SPD clones,
but none of them clear mud well and when full of mud they don't engage.
I haven't tried Eggbeaters; if I wasn't happy with the ATACs that's
probably what I would try next.
