The company is Tenix, on Williams St in the CBD. Easy commute and I get to
faff about the city on the bike 🙂 It's close and flat enough that I could
easily commute on the fixie once it's finished if I felt the urge as
well...East Kew was a bit far and hilly for that to be comfortable with a
backpack although I did it on the old fixie a few times.

lockers, secure undercover parking for bikes, and a BUG. Not till the
move to the new place in North Ryde though. For now I store the bike
in the lunchroom.

It's relatively common employee facility there in the tech companies in
the Silicon Valley. I visited a friend at work and was amazed at all the
bike lockers they have there. It's 5 stars!

Of course they will ignore such a request. If they agree to a towel service, then you'll want a coffee service, then a massage service then a bike mechanic on the premises.....Then again, it might be worthwhile starting the process of wearing them down as soon as you can. 🙄

Not necessarily, Tenix solutions have a bunch of obese, unhappy call centre operators and camera verifications staff (people who sit at a puter and type in your number plates from photos of people speeding), as well as a bunch of people who spend 10 hours a day sitting in stationary cars with speed cameras.

If a case is put to them, with estimate of costs, description of how the process would work and the anticipated benefits (sick days, morale, car space reduction?), you might get a response. If you walk in and say "Can we have a towel service?" then they'll say no. If you give them the facts you might succeed.

Lets not forget they have [censored] of revenue from motorists to spend....

Interesting perception of where the speeding fines go. And here's me thinking it was the government coffers that were filling up.

Speaking of riding to work and speeding fines, there was a job in NSW
that I unsuccessfully applied for, that had the same net effect; loss of
over $1million in speeding fines, for the government.

THe NSW PLC(? fine processing bureau) was going to relovate to Maitland
in Lower Hunter Valley, NSW. Fabulous thinks I. Great place to live,
lots of touring and plenty of roads to take to work.

So I do the full covering letter, response to criteria, resume and send
it off. Weeks later I finally get the "you have been unsuccessful".
Shucks, wanted this one, so rings up the name on the bottom, who turned
out to be level one/two head honcho.

Reason" err, since it was a relocation, it you didn't already live there
(Maitland), we didn't even look at your application. bummer.

Months later, I read in the newspapers that the relocation was a major,
major [censored] and they had to forego revenue worth millions in fines
because the infringement notices were not processed in time.

mwuhahahahahaha, one of my specialities was network relocations {:-).
OTOH, I did wonder if I should have used my sisters address in the HV at
the time, but there was months of living in Sydney before they moved anyway.
