  1. I've been training with the Edge 305 GPS this season and I've really loved it. Of course, like with any new technology there are things that can be improved and features that are overlooked.

For example, the Edge 305 IS a GPS so why is it so difficult to use like a GPS? I found program that will allow you to upload waypoints and routes to it so you can use it like a normal GPS on a long tour. Why Garmin doesn't make software to do this I don't know. marengo-ltd.comblog

Does anyone else know of any tricks or hidden features for the Edge?

Or does anyone know of problems that Garmin hasn't fixed yet?

  2. you can probably get better answers here:

  3. I'm a huge Edge fan. You CAN do the things that you want to do. I agree with the other post that you should consult the users forums first for information. The primary use for the Edge is training - not navigating btw. There are plenty of other GPS (small handhelds) that are better. But - you can use the following link:

    bradculberson.commap.html

to custom make a course and then export it to the Edge. Then - start the course and your ride - hit the enter button and a small map will come on the bottom of the screen. From there - you'll know where to turn. Other information is available like a graph of your speed and the 'little racer guy' that you can try to beat.

Anyway, the Edge has absolutely made my training 150% better. I love it and recently purchased the 305 with HR and Cadence but may keep my 205 too.

    Regards, bioWheel
