IIRC www.viamichelin.com has a cyclist option. I dabbled with it
briefly but not in sufficient depth to comment on its efficacy.

Just checked it. Can't do cycle routes longer than 19kms, and couldn't
even find my nearest town!

How about ... Multimap? Zoom to the Ordnance Survey levels.

Or you could try www.streetmap.co.uk or www.getamap.co.uk

A good one for measuring distances, if you cycle on roads, is
www.gmap-pedometer.com

Gives some interesting options if you do select 'cycle' tho': e.g. a
gated white road for my local commute - pity about the 500ft of
climbing and 1 mile of A27.....

May or may not be useful to you but I knocked something up with
cycling in mind. You make a route on Google Maps then load it into
your GPS.
