  1. I used to love my 1985 Eddy Merckx SL frame... raced it for many years, sprinting and climbing were solid maybe even springy!

for the past 2 years i have been riding a Vitus bonded aluminum, i like the way the frame smooths out vibration/road shock... but in my largest rear cog & climbing hard i can make the deraileur downshift to the next cog (running dura ace 9sp downtube shifters and deraileur, in index mode after that it doesnt move again but in friction mode i can get it to continue by continuing to hammer)

so i am considering getting another frame...

based on this, those of you who have ridden titanium, do you think its a good match for me? I am 85kg/190lbs, looking at 3-4 year old Merlin with 3/2.5 s-bent seat stays and curved/flared chainstays with a carbon fork...
