After reading thru online sales there are several shops selling direct at what seem like 1/2 price. Components are well branded but what about frames, forks, etc. If you know what you want, what has been your experience? Need advice and thanks.

Do a search, you will find plenty of information on online shops, which are reputable, which are not. Also, we do not know where you are and what shops you are considering purchasing from.
FWIW, I have never purchased a frame or a fork from an online shop, but know a number of people who do, usually without a problem.

Thank you. I live in Texas and have looked at bikes on Sprtymama.com and BikesDirect.com. There is a lot of information out there and conflicting opinions but hearing from others who have been there before is helpful.
