The coverage here was poor, but probably better than you would see standing somewhere on the course.

The commentating awful too. One soon gets tired of seeing just the start gate, finish line and a
couple of seconds of riders out on the course for good measure and hearing such trite stuff as
''Here comes Barfolini. It looks like she has beaten Debonk.....''

I dunno if you saw the inteviews with Jeanson. I sensed that she was much more than a little
surprised and disappointed.

The one they ran in French soon after she finished was all smiley and upbeat.

But the one in English after the race was over gave me the distint impression that she was pretty
peed off. Not from what she said so much as from the expressison on her face.

the womens squad. Like the Wolfe/Montcalm scene all over again.

Hopefully they can put that all behind them, if such was in fact the case, and pull together
on Saturday.

I'm still gonna root for Margaret Hemsley though, being only a sojourner myself in Canada. And
perhaps Jeannie too since it seems she will be riding the RR.

The mens TT will also be interesting though. Theres a coupla spots on the course where water is
leeching onto the road. And combined with the falling leaves and the fact that they are on an
ultrafast downhill section, watch for someone to emulate Jan in the Tour.

Additionally there are numerous real bumpy spots (like really bumpy), lotsa tarred over spots, and
lotsa ''manhole covers'' (or whatever is the politically correct term for them thar hunks of iron
they use to cover water, sewer, gas and electricity line access points)

they all ride the SAME course. it will be up to the riders and mechanics and advisors to determine
if they will ride skinny tires or what pressure etc... but in the end they all have to go over the
same tarmac.

why is that an issue at all? let me know if one of the 'favorites' has a flat. or smashes a rim on a
rough spot...

Besides, Jeanson has been over to Europe, and she even won a World Cup race as an 18 year old.
