I'm looking for an inexpensive 1" threaded fork for a bike I'm working on.
Before people ask, I don't want to convert it to threadless. Is there a
source (vintage bike shop maybe) other than ebay that someone can recommend?
Steel or aluminum is fine.

Most bike shops can get a decent chrome-moly threaded fork for road
bikes. J&B improters is a distributor handling a wide range.
Wholesale runs about $30, depending.good luck

QBP offers Tange chromed unicrown forks, I think with sloping crowns,
your prices may vary.http://store.airbomb.com/Items.asp?Cc=601%2DT%2D416
I frequently see older Tange chromed sloping-crown forks on ebay in
the $30-$40 range.Surly sells a very nice (but heavy) classic fork with a nice crown,
it's about $70 - $80, and it's for the steamroller.http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=6990&category=1639
Ebay often has high quality vintage forks, but you may have a hard
time finding the right steerer tube. Buy one with a longer steerer
tube and take it into a competant shop to get shortened and threaded.
I got a reynolds 531 fork for $40 incl. shipping.Good Luck,

Steel or aluminum is fine.Where are you? Here in the Portland, Oregon area, I'd head to
Citybikes, which buys/sells/trades used parts of all types.Jeff

Email me with your steerer length and I'll look in the box of parts.
Cheap, most of them are quite old but in good nick.
