  1. A week ago, we had windy and wet storms in
Perth that led me to having a very slow commute
(about 23kph for 18km). It was a stiff head wind
and I got soaked. All good fun. Today, on the
ride home, I got a stiff tailwind and it was sunny
and cool. Commute was nearly 15 minutes quicker
    and 8kph faster.

    Another fantastic ride.....

I made it in dry, just. Fantastic tailwind all the way. Didn't see
a single other cyclist on my commute tho'. The evening ride home
    should be interesting..

I was going to start cycling to work today, the weather overnight made
me see sense! It got really hairy about 9 last night. About that time a
plane flew over that sounded and looked like it was *really* struggling
    - large variations in thrust and rolling from side to side +/- 45
degrees or so. It sounded like it could have been a military jet (you
could only see the lights through the clouds), and I hope it was as I'd
have hated to have been a passenger on a plane doing that! As it
disappeared towards the airport my first reaction was to watch the
news. Thankfully there was no mention of planes falling out of the sky.

Had to drop the cage off in O'Connor to be serviced, removed the fixie
from the boot, clipped in and nearly get wiped out by a van on the
first corner, 50m from the workshop. He was turning right across my
    path.
Stock Rd to the river and a nice clip through applecross, then fighting
the sidewind westerly up the Freeway bikepath.

Saw three other cyclists on their bikes, weather must have scared them
    away.

Going back to O'Connor will be fun, into the wind, I cannot think of a
route back to O'Connor that doesnt have a couple of significant hills.
    hmm 44 x 15 hmmmm

It was probably a pilotless drone getting coordinates shots for the
    bombing run.

I hope not, our renovation is progressing nicely. It would be a shame
to bomb the place (though I have been tempted to go wild with the
    sledge hammer at times!).

    You got that right.
What a bloody awful ride, strong gusty westerly wind, 30-40 knots, had
the bike weaving all over the place. Riding vewwy cawefuwwy. Rain
coming in on the front of a squall was stinging. Palm fronds all over
    the freeway bike path.
Stock Rd wasnt so bad, but I am feeling bloody tired now.

All I want now is sleep.

How did you go up Page St on the fixie? Did you find yourself
wanted a gear a bit less than 79 inches? My knees hurt thinking
    about it!

    knees are fine
I didnt climb Page St from Burke to Stock.
I took a couple of streets, Wichmann and Lawlor in Attadale that kind
of sidled up the hill, rather than going up the 10% gradient. Weirdest
thing was when I got back to work, I had weird flu-like symptoms,
shivers, hot flushes, had to work late and went to bed a soon as I got
    home, feeling really crook.
    Just a headache now.
    Must be menopause.
