  1. im turning 16 soon which means i can upgrade to become a junior. im targeting my first junior road race in september. up until now ive been doing crits and some road races but i have never raced over a distance greater than 35 miles because as a U16 ive not been able to.

i would like some advice about how i should alter my training to tackle my first junior race which is going to be 67 miles. i havent been able to do much training because ive been racing in spain so its been all about racing and recovery but now i have a few weeks where i can concentrate on my training. im thinking i should do a few 4 hour rides in the next few weeks as well as some threshold work and some sprint workouts (because im good at sprinting).

does this sound reasonable? are there any road racers willing to offer some advice?
