I don't know the Aggressor; but I have a GT Backwoods for about 6?
years, and am very happy with it. If you're expecting it to last for a
few years, then GT get my thumbs up. Well built and nice to ride.

is this the 2006 version? - ie
    http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=60014

(I know evan's are not the most popular in here right now, but I'd
rather give Evans £190 than give Halfords £350 ?)

Yes it's a good bike but you might want to go down your local bike
shop to see what they can for a similar price. Halfords reckon that
the full RRP is £549 but they are being a bit tricky. They tend to
overprice bikes and then drop the prices. Giving £200 off or 50% off
is a good way to get unwitting punters into the shop.

Also bear in mind you can get GT's at non-Halford shops, however the
Halfords models are usually lower spec as they import them themselves.
