How about that World's coverage! I wonder if they will continue to cover that [censored] acrobat
waterskiing [censored], too? And maybe we'll all get lucky next year and they'll push Summer Sportszone to
2am! I am afraid to see what the cycling coverage will be when Lance retires......

I'll take Lumbejack competitions over blasting a bird out of the sky.

They may rename the channel to NRA TV.... not that there's anything wrong with that.

The OLN Canadian operation, [OLCC], will have none.
What feeds will be available to networks/carriers/resellers outside of Canada I have not been able
to find out.CBC (Canadian broadcasting Corporation) will be supplying the feeds though.
Here is the Domestic CBC broadcast schedule. Times are EDT in North America with CET shown
parenthetically.OCT 7 16:00 - 18:00 [22:00 - 24:00] Taped OCT 8 16:00 - 18:00 [22:00 - 24:00] Taped OCT 9 16:00 -
18:00 [22:00 - 24:00] Taped OCT 10 16:00 - 18:00 [22:00 - 24:00] Taped OCT 11 12:30 - 16:30 [18:30 -
22:30] Live OCT 12 12:00 - 15:30 [18:00 - 21:30] LiveThe actual event to be covered is not stated. Presumably the day's events will be covered in the
taped broadcasts with the Womens and Mens RR's covered live the last two days.--

What would we have if we didn't have OLN? 1/2 hour daily shows of the tour where we get 2 minutes of
actual racing and the rest "witty banter" from Adrian Karsten? Puuuuhhhhhleeeezzzz.OLN may be far from perfect, but they're WAY better than anything else that's been available in the
States. I don't see what good is served by slamming them. After all, they are the "Outdoor Life"
network. I know most cyclists are arrogant [censored] who think theirs is the only sport worthy of any
attention, but there actually are other outdoor interests. I do wish they didn't so often involve
overweight guys with guns killing stuff that doesn't have a chance and calling it sport.Bob C.

I agree. Curling is wonderful to sit back and watch while sipping an ale. One of the partners at a
firm I worked at years ago was from the Netherlands and very in to curling. He would fly back home
for curling championships every year. -

Did he ever try to shake down a bike shop for an out of warranty claim?

give you a summary with the sports update? Oh well. I was disappointed with their Vuelta coverage
too. I was hoping to get some prime time repeats of the days stage.

climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, camping, road cycling including touring, running. they also
devoted informative segments on how to do these activities better and on how to buy gear and which
gear to buy. The channel is now beset with bull riding, hunting, fishing, ATV recreation (which is
about as antithetical to their original programming as NASCAR or monster trucks). Look at
tonight's Lineup:6:00PM SPORTSMAN'S JOURNAL
7:30PM CABELA'S OUTFITTER JOURNAL
8:00PM SHOTGUN JOURNAL
9:30PM AMERICAN SHOOTER
10:00PM LUMBERJACK'S CHALLENGE
11:30PM LUMBERJACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
12:00PM U.S. ARMY RANGERS
13:00PM BRAGGING RIGHTS
14:30PM BEACH AMBUSH
15:00PM LUMBERJACK'S CHALLENGE
16:30PM LUMBERJACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPSNot one thing there remotely like the station of 3 to 4 years ago. They've taken on ESPN2's lineup
and jettisoned what made them unique. Those complaining about Kirsten Gum need look no farther than
this to see where the logic in her hiring came from. -

since the corporate beancounters at Comcast bought OLN a few years ago, bike racing isn't that
important. Sure, the TDF, Lance & the great ratings put OLN on the (ratings) map for advertisers,
but exec producer Peter Englehart has a limited budget to spend on cycling so he spends it on the
TDF. The rest is just recycled [censored]. -

AlexThink yourself lucky to get anything
I'm watching CBC right now.
10 minutes into the coverage.
They broadcast nothing but horsesh!t yet.
But at least I know where Jesus keeps his money
At least he must 'cause they had the camera on the lousy place for long enough.
Tune's the one for John Brown's Body - Battle Hymn of the Republic, I think, depending where in
Anglophonia you call home. All together now [just the chorus].........
''Jesus keeps his money in the Bank of Montreal, Jesus keeps his money in the Bank of Montreal,
Jesus keeps his money in the Bank of Montreal. Jesus SAVES, Jesus SAVES, Jesus SAVES''Hey they just started showing some action.
Junior women.
Nice commentary. Didn't know it was a stand up comic show.
But by comes a chicka. Built like the proverbial Brick Sh!thouse too if ya know what I mean.
Commentator [censored] sez ''Here comes Miss X from Country Y'' <actual names omitted by Davey>
''She's got BIG EXPECTATIONS''
Davey nudges Jim Bowie, sez ''I, wonder where they dug the wankerz up to commentate this one.''
Re-Run yet tape if you don't believe me.

Well in all fairness, Kanada isn't a great hotbed of cycling activity.
They have to broadcast the sh!t they do to interest the average viewer who might be enticed to watch
the coverage because it's an international event, but knows relatively little, perhaps even nothing
of the riders or lore.OOOPS! There goes anuzzer one. ''ManhHole Covers''. I thought that had been replaced with ''Utility
access points'' or some such euphemism.--

Cycling gets them their highest ratings in history and they can't spend some of their earnings on
other cycling events? Did they ever consider that some of the other events could turn out to be just
as big, ratings wise, as the TDF?
