Radio 4 interview with Landis

Heard (presumabley they same) interview on Radio 5 just after 8. Comment from their reported was much the same. Landis is saying he has abnormally high testosterone, so where are his other failed tests. I certain respects he is correct though, if the UCI, and others start leaking results, they are breaking their own rules. One of the points made was that Gatlins failed test results became known 3 months later, Landis' a week later, and before the B test was analysed. What we don't want is Landis gettign off on a technicality.

Landis appears to be following the strategy that attack is the best
form of defence.

naturally high level too....

I got the impression he was claiming that while the ratio was high the
actual hormone level was low. Did anyone else pick up on that?

I thought his performance in the interview was quite good - he came over
as a basically straight, likeable guy in a situation he just wasn't
experienced enough to cope with. A basically dishonest person would have
been a lot slicker in the interview. However, he didn't persuade me he
was innocent.

He's right, it was. Which is why his earlier stories about having 'high
natural testosterone' were a smoke screen.

What I found unpersuasive was his claim that he didn't know about the
11:1 ratio until a couple of days ago, while the rest of us have known
it for ten days. That the UCI didn't officially tell him, I'll believe.
That he didn't read it in the press (or his lawyers didn't brief him)?

knowing something and reading something in the press aren't necessarily
the same thing ....
