I have a 105 9spd groupset. If I want to upgrade the following items to Dura Ace 9 spd, can I just get the Dura Ace equivalent? Are there any compatibility issues I need to be aware of?
e.g. if I saw a "DA 9spd Front Derailleur" on eBay, do I need to check for certain model numbers to ensure it works OK with my 105 gear?

ps. please no comments on whether these upgrades are worthwhile etc.
DA 9spd shifters definitely work with 9spd 105 RD, FD and brake calipers, and 105 everything else. I don't see the point in upgrading FD or brake calipers - you won't notice a difference and your weight savings will be tiny. At least you'll get better RD jockey wheels with DA (the 105 ones had [censored] bearings in 2003), although the wheels themselves can be upgraded at lesser expense. If you insist, the DA RD and FD will definitely work with 105 crankset, chain and cluster, and the DA levers will definitely work with 105 brake calipers. You need to make sure that the FD you get is compatible with the braze-on, bracket, or seat tube diameter of your bike.

there wont be any compatibility problems with these parts as they are all interchangable.
STI levers, rear derailleur and callipers are worth doing but you would find a bigger difference going to Ultegra 10sp.

Yep, that's right. Just shifters (to actuate the shifts with correct cog spacing), a cassette (to give you the 10 gears), and the chain (with the thickness that suits the cassette cog thickness and spacing).

=========================================================== If I were you....I'd stick with what you've got. Dura Ace will give you an incredibly small gain(even in looks) over 105 for a lot of $. 10 speed - much more $ and read other info on the change from 9 to 10 in the forum pages - it's not worth it and changing can be less precise etc. A guy even told me his bike is slower with 10 than 9 after the upgrade🙁

With eBay, the change to 10 spd is not that $$. I've searched on forums and haven't found any bad press about this...but would be concerned if there were negative effects when doing this...any links to threads you've seen?
