completely outrageously different.

Well done! I can't resist doing this myself. The earth thanks you. If
you don't have anyone to donate the bike to (and I have noticed that if
you ask for a nominal sum from family/friends, the new owner, having
invested something, is more likely to actually use the bike, than just
park it in the shed and forget about it), then don't feel shy about
selling it for what you can get. The temptation is to keep even though
you already have a stable of bikes. Get some money for it while the
weather's still good, and instead of a medal, treat yourself and maybe
a friend to a good feed with the cash.
