UCI has already clamped down on Phonak somewhat. Phonak has been doing
their own anti-doping testing and have fired team members based on
their own tests, with fired cyclists filing suit against Phonak.

It's about time....This is all wonderful PR for them, now...

It was decided a long time ago and is not related to recent events.
I saw an interview with a Phonak executive earlier this year on Eurosport
and he said they were pleased with the publicity they had got from cycling
but were now moving on to other things.
