  1. Recently I have changed to the clipless pedals and shoe system and I am having a lot of trouble getting my pedals to a good tension. I was wondering if anyone has any tips to help me out?

Take you tools with you, ride the bike down a quiet road and clip out of the pedals, if it's too tight, loosen them and try again...vice versa if it's too loose. Repeat until you get it right.
Alternatively, just put the shoe into the pedal (without your foot in it) and twist it out, adjusting tension until it "feels" right to you.
