Or go with a helmet liner. I wear 'em for managing sweat - keeps my head cool and the sweat out of my eyes. Maybe bee sting prevention is a benefit I can add to my list of reasons for wearing them.

One day I was cycling at 30km's speed and next thing I knew OUCH!!!.
Something hit me in my forehead 1 inch beneath my helmet. Damn it really hurt straight away, I didn't know what had hit me. Hit my brakes very quickly, took my helmet off & threw it to the ground hitting the soil. Then I saw a flipping bee fly off my helmet 🙁
I don't know what hurt more, the bee sting or the bee impact, most likely the sting heh.

When I finally got my spd pedals & was clipped in for my very first ride with them, I was cruising along doing again about 30km's and I see this insect, unsure what it was heading straight towards me. I duck & it flys into my helmet. I slam my breaks on completely forgetting I was clipped it..... Came to a stop and realised OH [censored] I'm clipped in :eek: Got unclipped and took off my helmet & out sails a bee!

Luckily I had taken to wearing bandana's because I am bald & was getting sun spots from helmet holes, so no sting.

Mind you I am allergic to all insect stings/bites. But only mildly allergic, swells to twice size of normal.

I was riding down a hill out in the country and doing about 40 to 50kph when a bee hit me in the leg, just below my knee. Don't know how, but it stung me. I knew what had happened almost straight away and slowed to a stop. All that was there was the sting and the "venom sac" sticking out of my leg :eek: I used my credit card to scrape it out and avoid squeezing the sac and injecting more venom. Stung a bit for a while ('scuse the pun) and had a small lump for a day or so, but I guess that was nothing compared to what happened to the bee!!

I was stung yesterday. It was really hot so I had my jersey zipped half way down, which makes it easy to scoop up all sorts of flying nasties. A bee or wasp or something flew in and I quickly started swatting my chest with an open palm, but I got stung before I could crush the bug. It hurts for a second and then dissipates. No biggie, just don't do something stupid like crash or veer into traffic.

Well my forehead hit by the bee, I didn't know what had hit me, so I just used my reverse side of my glove to wipe the area & then I saw the bee sting...
