Is there a rule somewhere regarding the style of handlebar used in cycle racing? do they have to use the standard style of Road bike bars for general racing? is there any advantage to using the standard style as apposed to the Time trial style? (Just a thought don't get too carried away) -- Regards

Yes, for UCI sanctioned road racing you must use drop bars with plugged ends.
