It was. All along I've felt Ullrich hasn't gotten quite the credit he deserved
being an unfortunate part of the Lance era. And I really don't assume that any
GC man is completely following every doping rule there is. They are simply
unreasonable and unrealistic. Still [censored] when the violation is sloppy and

has been a time that it was the other way around and that an accuser had to
prove a defendant guilty, but fortunately such rules have become obsolete in
bicycle racing.

While in a court of law the standard usually requires the prosecution to
prove guilt, in an employment contract I'm quite sure that standard has
never applied. All that matters is the terms of the contract (with some
minimal standards extraneously imposed).

Perhaps, the team requested DNA tests and Ullrich refused or they
confirmed that Ullrich lied about his connection to the doctor. They
don't need proof of doping, just that their employee is lying to them
and refusing to cooperate.
