I have had a bit of numbness, so when I heard that this saddle was designed to address this issue, I thought I'd give it a try. Plus, it was half off at Performance (that should have been a clue!) Bottom line: this thing sucks. It does reduce numbness a bit, but it's like sitting on a piece of Granite. Actually, the firmness wasn't the problem. I have an old Vetta saddle that's harder than this, and a lot more comfortable. I brought it back to the shop, and the clerks first words were "yeah, those suck." Great sales pitch! I exchanged it for this saddle:
My experience was different. The E3 (gel model) really eliminated numbness for me. As various posters have noted, saddle design it is a very individual thing, and it is worth keeping searching to find a saddle that works for you and eliminates numbness. And, as has also been posted before, finding the right seat position, expecially tilt is important (nose just down a hair below level was good for me, any upward tilt terrible).
Although I was very happy with the E3, when I bought a new bike, it came with a Freccia Selle Royal XSenium saddle. I was intending to swap it for the E3, but it turned out to be even better for me than the E3. So for me the E3 was very good (and still serving on my backup bike), but not unique in getting rid of numbness.
