Pan newsreader.
I hit the 'Send Pending Messages' button, and there must have been
about a dozen old replies lurking in there. Sorry.

I thought the retention on news.individual.net was suddenly looking very
poor.

ISTR that's at least the third time you've done that. Time to try a
different newsreader, perhaps?

Go to the pan.sent folder, highlight offending message, click
Article -> Cancel...

I don't know if it will do many or just one at a time.

Errr.. you are correct.
I recently changed to Thunderbird for email, so might go the 'all-in-one'
route. Then again most of the denizens of this newsgroup would be more at
home with vi'ing your Mail file and grepping the news spool.
(There - that's done it. Emacs/vi wars. And you thought helmet threads got
heated?)

Haven't seen an emacs/vi battle for some years.....

But having found out that a Cambridge Moultoneer wrote one of the
immediate predecessors of vi my prejudices were confirmed.

(I actually first used emacs in 1982, but dropped it when I came across vi
in 1984.)
