The HHH is way bigger than most people expect. The numbers overwhelm the town. The start is pretty wierd..it takes an hour to get everyone rolling.
If you are worried about getting through the gates of hell in time, line up an hour or 2 early, that will give you at least an extra half hour, and skip the first or second feed station.Wind can be big, ..high gusts.. (30mph) made me take the 60k one year (and a mechanical).
Come the day before and spend a bunch of money at the convention center the day before...it's poor mans interbike.
