Alu = Marco (Very light Bianchi)
Steel = Indurain (Pinarello, Later on the Alu Pinarello Paris)
Titanium=noone?

Pinarello won 7 times in a row (5xIndurain, 1xRiis, 1xUllrich), as did
Trek.

I think are only there two or three riders who won the TdF on Carbon
Fibre:

Lemond (repainted Calfee)
Lance (Trek OCLV)

MAYBE Hinault in 1985 when they rode " Hinault" bikes (No idea wich
brand that really was). I also remember Lemond using a Huffy that year.
But all the pictures I have seen suggest that that was Steel or Alu.

Fignon=Steel
Delgado=Steel and Alu (I think he used a repainted Vitus)
Roche=Steel

market to being the standard amongst higher end bikes. Offhand I can't
think of any non-carbon bikes being ridden this year.

Julich sometimes used an Alu Cervelo

But yeah, can't readily think of any other examples^^ (though I'm sure
there are Alu bikes in the TdF)

Magnus Backstead's is definitely all aluminium. Don't know about others.

The LiquiGas team is riding Aluminum Bianchis, some with carbon stays, some
without. There's another thread here in this NG about it.
