  1. This Ric Stern article was interesting:

    The odd question is:
Why did some teams have spare bikes mounted sideways on their follow cars rather than facing front on?

These machines have ($$) disc wheels fitted and they face them into the wind? Are certain teams sponsored by certain roof-rack makers?
Are some cars the wrong size for the fore-aft racks?
Is it a conspiracy to damage the lovely disc wheels should the car travel too fast?
Did Leipheimer use the TT stage to recover, after donating blood for later use, and is that the reason behind his shoddy ride? (Lance isn't riding now, some yank has to cop all the doping scandals now).

Maybe they figure it's quicker to get them off the roof?

Interesting article, I reckon Jens must have been cruising. He's such a strong rouleur I'd have thought he'd be a good TT'er. The fast guys power output is phenomenal. I can barely sprint faster than their TT ave 🙂

The bikes mounted sideways? Well you get to see a lot more of them I guess? Still no good reason for Levi's poor performance that I've read.

And how nasty was Julich's crash? Ouch!
