The Giro 2006 has just finished, but rumours about the Giro 2007 are spreading like wildfire: - as was already known, the race will start on the island of Sardegna - a finish on the Passo di Fedaia *fapfap* - a repeat of the Finestre, with a stage finish in Sestrière - an ascent of Monte Crostis (the unlikely part), followed by the return of the Zoncolan (very likely) - Alpe Segletta will be included again, with a finish in Verbania (very likely). This stage could also include the Mottarone. - finish on the Alpe di Siusi - the Plan de Corones is still in with a chance for a stage finish next year - the climb of the Madonna della Guardia is likely to be included - a stage finish in Borgo San Lorenzo (confirmed) - the finishing stage will be an itt between Bardolino and Verona (confirmed).
This is oh so very likely, I live very close (20mins on bike), they have been working on the road up this year, the only thing that is not 100% clear is if they will stop at the top 😕 or carry on over  finishing some place else..
What ever they do they will be coming up from Ovaro, not from Sutrio like 2003.
As I find any more news regarding this stage, I will post it.
Monte vergine(gunego last victory) Passo della Futa Briançon via Maddalena Vars Izoard Oropa last time with the Pantani victory Alpe di Siusi (maybe)
Zoncolan from Ovado 11.2% of slope average:eek: Time trial from Bardolino to Verona
Nothing to do for Madonna della Guardia in Genoa,no Plan de Corones(maybe 2008 alternative of Tre cime di lavaredo) no Monte Pora and presolana(also them in 2008)😉
the Finestre is still unpaved(thanks also to the interes of the Italian alpin Club CAI).Next year is passing the Tour(and the Tour of Dephine Libere) not the Giro
Well i am, it's December the second. The rumour mill says there gonna be more ITT kilometers. The course is made for a battle between 2 "well known" riders
