Specialized Roubaix On E-Bay

I was recently looking at a Felt bike on ebay. And it sounds very similiar to your situation, the price is too good to be true, free shipping, and an incredibly low buy it now price.

At first my instinct was to hurry and buy it. But, upon further thought on the matter, I believe this is a total scam even thought the seller has a 99% feedback.

Thanks for the reply. I today noticed that the same advertisements for the Specialized Roubaix have again returned on E-Bay. It could be just a weekend thing. There are a few stores around here that sell Specialized bikes. You cannot buy the bikes from them on line. you have to go there and buy it. This could be a Specialized policy. Maybe these "buy it now" bikes on E-Bay are bogus, perfect look alikes, but not really Specialized. My advice is to be very careful and get full details before committing yourself. When I asked about their return policy, the details were not clear. Who builds these bikes? I'm hoping other members will come forward who had dealings with these 24 hour wonders. SB

I just found the bike you are talking about. The one that's being sold for $1850, right? Have a look through his feedback. Looks like he's sold a few bikes before. Four of his feedbacks actually mention bike. And i'd say there are quite a few more transactions that would have been bikes. Most buyers don't bother to mention what they bought, but instead just leave a generally positive comment.

The one you mentioned is not the seller. The bike you mentioned actually has a size and a history. I saw the advertisements in question ( the ones I don't believe) earlier today at mid morning and were gone an hour later. The seller I viewed never lists the size but when you ask him a question, he tells you that he has multiple sizes. He told me $1200 for a brand new 2005 Specialized Roubaix Comp Triple at his "buy it now" price and free shipping. This price is too low to be believed. Something is not right here.

Maybe it's the Specialized factory cleaning up on some older models from the showroom.. 😕
