  1. Hi All,

I have been using a 46cm ITM Wing Shape bar for the last few months,
and have been reasonably happy with it. One of the things I like is the
"anatomic" portion of the drops is almost big enough for my hands. But
almost only counts in horse-shoes and hand-grenades. I am getting a new
bike and among other things switching from Ultegra to Centaur partially
to see if some of my nerve compression issues go away from differently
shaped brifters. When I ride by myself I don't have any problems
because I can change my hand position any time I want, but in long (3+
hour) group rides where I have to be ready with the brakes at all
times, I have problems. I would probably just get more of the same, but
my local source is out of 46's. I can't just swap cuz the guy buying my
    old bike wants them.

So, any suggestions for 46 (at least) bars with either a large anatomic
bend, or preferably a deep non-anatomic bend? Something that fits
nicely with Campy brifters? I've been considering Deda Magic. I live in
the sticks so this will be a mail order purchase so I can't try before
    I buy.

Deda 215 Deep. 46 o-o, non-ana. 215 Anatomic, longer tails on the bar
    ends.

I've used the 215 Deep, liked them fine. Looking at the Anatomic so I
can use the drops without half my hand hanging off on an anatomic bar.
I think these are all 26 clamp size but Deda might make some 25.8
    models. --D-y

The Magic and the Newton are both for big hands like ours. But you want
to try them with levers in place, because the curves at the front are
slightly different : Magic being sharper, and Newton rounder.

TTT Merckx bend. Deep drop. No anatomic bend. Good for
    Campagnolo brifters.

I think they even have a wider bar too.

If the sweep was forward, instead of backward, I'd buy a lifetime
supply. But my shoulder width, arm angle, etc makes makes the
orientation of my hands such that a backward sweep would be "wrong".
That's one of the reasons I like a flat-palm bar because it allows more
yaw, if that makes sense to anybody.

Well, have you tried a Pista bend?

This is the only one I know of in a 46. Steel, too..

I used to use narrow track bars a million years ago, but I've gotten
used to wider road bars. Track in a 46 is interesting. I wonder how
modern brifters fit on a track bend.
