  1. Any one know if I can use a large rotor with the Avid BB7 disc break ?
(I have been told the frame has been designed to accomodate upto 8" rotor)

The new ones come in 8" but you probably need to buy the rotor and
    caliper together.

Great brakes. Low price, stop good, and provide years of service. Pads
last a long time too. They are heavy, if that matters to ya.

It seems that the market price for BB7's has gone up since the BB5's
came out. By the time you buy decent levers, BB7's are almost as
    expensive as good hydraulics.

I would think the only difference between the 8" and 6" version would be
the rotor and the adapter. Avid sells the BB7 with an 8" rotor.

You may be right about the adaptor, but try buying just the adaptor.
    They get ya.
